We participated in the second phase of the multisectoral mission to London, Barcelona and Madrid, organized by InvestBA, the Agency for Investment, Promotion and Foreign Trade of the City of Buenos Aires. The mission was held from September 25th to 29th and was aimed to strengthen the positioning of the four strategic sectors of the City: professional services, video games, audiovisual and IT.
Headed by Alejo Rodríguez Cacio, CEO of InvestBA and Agustín Kelly, Director of Foreign Trade, the visit allowed the generation of investment and foreign trade opportunities between cities and the exchange of innovative experiences.
The mission began in London, where the delegation was received by the Argentine Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Carlos Sersale di Ciserano. More than 60 guests participated, including companies, consultants, start ups, financial institutions and law firms. In addition, a seminar on business opportunities in Buenos Aires City was held at London Business School.
During the stay in Barcelona, the Agency organized a similar meeting at IESE business school. Furthermore, a memorandum of collaboration was signed with ACCIO institution, whose main objective is to encourage the flow of investments and develop a mutual cooperation in business matters.
Representing the IT sector, Manuel Torres Andrade, Director of G&L, held private meetings with Spanish and Catalan companies with the aim of positioning Buenos Aires as a gateway to business for the region. During these meetings, we were able to present the IT sector of Buenos Aires and Argentina as a strategic partner, and generate opportunities for joint project development.
In this regard, it is worth mentioning the participation of José María Louzao, President of G&L, in the training “How to export software to Catalonia/Spain”, organized by InvestBA, in Digital House, on September 22th. During the meeting, the president of our company emphasized the opportunities offered by the Spanish and Catalan markets and provided our commercial experience in the region.
Continuing with the mission’s agenda, the delegation traveled to Madrid, where it participated in South Summit, a meeting of innovation and entrepreneurship, together with the Investment and International Trade Agency of Argentina and 15 Argentine entrepreneurs.
“This initiative has been a great opportunity to promote our industries, especially IT, which has had a significant growth in recent years and plays a fundamental role in the development of our country’s economy”, said Manuel Torres Andrade.
